Privacy Policy

Introduction

SnapTask (“we,” “us,” or “our”) helps you photograph receipts, business cards, bills, events, and similar items, extract useful information, and take actions such as saving contacts or calendar events. This Privacy Policy explains how the SnapTask iOS app handles information when you use it.

Information We Process

Depending on how you use SnapTask, we may process: photos you capture or select; text and barcodes extracted from those photos; structured snap results (such as receipt, contact, event, bill, or product details); optional profile information you enter (such as name, age, or gender); app preferences (appearance, language, theme, haptics, and similar settings); and API keys you provide for optional cloud AI providers.

How We Use Information

We use this information on your device to recognize content in your photos, structure it into useful results, suggest actions, and remember your preferences. SnapTask does not require an account and does not sign you into a SnapTask cloud service.

Storage

Snap history and related content are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. Preferences and optional profile details are stored in app storage on your device. Cloud AI API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain. You can delete saved snaps with Clear History in Settings. SnapTask does not sync your snaps to our cloud.

Permissions

SnapTask may request access to Camera, Photos, Contacts, Calendar, and Reminders. Camera and Photos are used to capture or choose images for processing. Contacts, Calendar, and Reminders are used only when you choose a suggested action that writes to those apps. You can change these permissions anytime in iOS Settings.

On-Device and Cloud AI

By default, SnapTask processes snaps on your device using Apple Vision and, when available, Apple Foundation Models. If you enable Advanced AI and connect a provider (OpenAI, Google Gemini, or Anthropic Claude), SnapTask sends your photo and related OCR context to that provider using an API key you supply. Those requests go directly from your device to the provider. SnapTask does not operate its own servers for AI processing and does not upload your API keys to our servers—keys are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.

Siri and App Intents

If you use Siri or App Shortcuts with SnapTask, processing happens when you ask Siri or run a shortcut (for example, to capture, search snaps, or complete an action). Those interactions are initiated by you on your device.

Third Parties

When Advanced AI is enabled, the cloud AI provider you choose processes the image and text you send under that provider’s own terms and privacy policy. Support options may open email or WhatsApp to reach us. Linking to the App Store for ratings or sharing uses Apple’s services. SnapTask does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Children

SnapTask is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Choices

You can control your data by revoking permissions in iOS Settings, clearing snap history in the app, disconnecting Advanced AI providers, editing or removing optional profile details, and uninstalling SnapTask, which removes locally stored app data from your device.

Changes and Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this screen reflects the latest revision. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at info@hexalitics.com.
